steps

I spend much of my time at the house site these days. It's a beautiful spot situated atop a hill on the backside of the farm. There is a lovely view of surrounding countryside and the sunsets have been stunning. I had my camera on the first evening of work and captured a small taste of the glorious sky but sadly didn't have my camera with me the next day. When I was lamenting this to my brother he told me not to worry, that the sunset was good every day. How right he was. Every evening has been incredibly beautiful.

My younger brother likes to joke around with the twins. Long ago he told them about a three step process to accomplish most anything. It is nonsensical and repeated all the time as any good inside joke is.
Here is the formula:
1. Build a time machine
2. Go back to the Eisenhower administration
3. Buy dynamite (and use dynamite to complete task)

We really quote the process for ANYTHING. Haircut in three steps. Need to make your bed? Step one- time machine. Lawn need mowed? It's a three step process!

This week we were standing around the pit that is to become the cistern for Luke and Chantée's house, trying to figure out how to make it bigger since there was a tough rock layer preventing further digging. All that came to mind was the three step process- except this time it actually made sense! We haven't solved the problem because we haven't figured out the time machine yet but just saying it really made my week.

This made me silently chuckle. A few times.
