summer memories with my sister

Emily and I used to eat ice together at night. In a small corner of the king sized bed we would lay close, ice cubes, wrapped in the sheet between our jaws. The sheet made munching more comfortable and also kept the ice flakes contained once crushed. Mom didn't really like us eating with/in the bed because it made the sheet all stretched out and slobbery. It wasn't as much fun when the ice ran out and more trips to the kitchen were denied because the once cozy bedding was soggy and cold against our necks. It was lovely and delicious when in progress though, like a little snow cone, one bite at a time with a flannel aftertaste.

This makes me wish that I had ice in my freezer and that I had flannel sheets right now. I don't know that I deserve such an honor to have a blog written about me, but I do know it is an honor to be your sister. I love you!

I love these pictures a lot. Someday, I hope you write a book--maybe a cookbook--with some of these awesome stories in it. I'll go to the ABC and buy it and ask you to sign it for me. :)

thats a really funny story. Also, in that last picture, you look super like your little twin sisters. I actually thought it was one of them, for a second. Its you right?
