Massage therapists like to talk about how taxing the massage work is on them. The arthritis and aches you get from using your fingers, wrists and arms deters many from full time/long term massage employment.

Massage is work, but so easy compared to picking asparagus. I can't really compare kneading my knuckles into a soft and well moisturized muscle and kneading my knuckles into a rocky and sharp stubbled field. My delicate massage hands have been swollen and stiff every day. The asparagus gets picked every day (if the weather is warm), which means saturday night is already planned. Luke and I alternate use of the ear muffs with the radio so I still keep up with NPR on the three hour "commute". My whole body is tired especially my fingernails. The asparagus has been tasty though.

Oklahoma is often windy but it has been out of control recently. With sustained winds of 45 miles an hour its hard to keep a hat on. I am not sure if I have a wind burn or sun burn.

Out of control is the norm when living in Oklahoma. Just think of how much your character will be built this summer... :)

I hope these winds are not the start of another Great Dust Bowl!

I'm going to look up why asparagus makes your pee smell. I'm inspired.

Did you know that there's actually an enzyme in your nose that, if lacking, makes it so you can't smell the asparagus pee? It's true.

Also, it is almost incomprehendable to me that there are places in this country where people are getting sunburns. I haven't seen the sun in days. DAYS, ELISA!

I know that we listen to NPR, but there is a country song kind of about dust bowls and asparagus picking. "And he takes the tractor another round. and another round. and another rouuund."

I don't think you would call our picker a tractor. but we do drive in rounds. We don't trust weather.com for farming-grade weather predictions, but they did comment on how that oklahoma is having its dryest spring since the dust-bowl. Glad your home. Good work this week.
