My work schedule is such that I usually have one day of the week free- no classes or work. This arrangement is much better in theory than the reality I live in. I like to accomplish things and not having any real schedule that calls for completion of tasks means that nothing gets finished. The day usually ends with me annoyed at myself. When you find yourself very annoying its hard to not have the same problem with other people.
Last week I made great progress on my book lamps. A little (large) project that I started last year, so long ago! I still have lots books on my shelf to finish but I feel like I am getting somewhere now. The idea to make them came from some beautiful ones I saw on Etsy.
I am more careful with not just choosing a book because of the cover. The paper for this one was very challenging to work with.
The bottom of the book remains flat so you can stack it how you like.
I was excited to find an Oklahoma book.
Many of these books were collected from the give away bin at the used book store . I love free books! I started out buying cheap old books that looked cool but then I started getting too many. Then I had a policy of only books that I didn't have to pay for but there are so many incredible free books. SoI just stopped, no more books unless I am going to read them. I limit my trips to the used book store which helps greatly.
This one has been in use for awhile now on my book shelf.
Okay, time for me to go work on my amazing bottomless sink of dishes. The dishes never end. This is why I drink straight from the faucet.

Elisa, these are so incredibly cool, and whenever I'm in thrift stores I go to their book section, not to look for books to read, but to dream about one day making a book lamp like you! I LOVE them!
I love these book lamps! They're amazing!
I drink from the tap as well. Good to know I am not alone.

I am still enjoying my book lamp! Thank you!
